“Kh a a a a a n n” ! ! asked:

A small glass bottle was somehow flushed down one of our toilets. I believe that the object is in the trap, so its unlikely that it could be retrieved with a snake. Based on stuff I read online, I think the toilet will have to be removed and then re-attached after the object is taken out.

How long do you think it would take a plumber to do this?

it depends on what he runs into problems with rusty or corroded bolts bad water lines shuting off the water if their is no cut off valve. a broken flange after he pulls the commode I don’t want to discourage you but these things happen. to answer your question it could take one hour or three lets hope for the best like 30 minutes ‘good luck’

lot longer than when he sticks a finger up in there and flicks it back down their is no trap the bowl acts as trap for closure if it made it up and down its gone// drain water by cup dipin if it is floatin / will come back down// other wise its two hours minimal on and off hopefully

It’s hard to say how long reverse augering could take, sometimes the object can take over an hour to dislodge. Worst case scenario, you’ll have to have a new toilet put down.

if its a good plumber 2 hours and that’s taking a break in the middle of the operation,it takes about 5 minutes to remove it and another 5 for removing tank from the bowl then 15 to get it out side and flush it out with a hose, then a 30 minute break and then put it back together ya 2 hours

I can completely remove my toilet in about 5 minutes. About the same to put it back. Its not difficult, but you do have to know what your doing

One hour. To safe you money, try putting your hand in the trap from the inside and see if you can feel the glass and pull it out the way it went in.
